WORKSHOP AND LECTURES:
QUILTING BFFs (BINDINGS, FACINGS, FLANGES)
This is a one-hour lecture.
So you've finished quilting your piece. Now what? How are you going to finish that edge? You could bind it but there are many types of binding methods. You could finish it with a Facing but you'e never done that before or can't remember how it's done....and how about adding a little Flange to make your piece sizzle?
Let's take the mystery out of it and you'll be labeling and admiring your work sooner than you ever would have imagined.

THIS WILL SURE TO ATTRACT ANY QUILTER WANTING TO DO MORE THAN JUST STRAIGHT LINES WITH THEIR WALKING FOOT. THE SKY'S THE LIMIT You Quilted That with your Walking Foot? New dates can be added for 2020 and 2021. Contact me soon to secure your dates. To check availability on the scheduled dates, contact the client group direct. |
While those who quilt with free-motion feet are busy practicing you’ll be quilting directly on your project just by marking a few lines or guides. The walking foot can be used for more than just stitch in the ditch and straight lines. Let me show you a dozen designs, all done with the walking foot. We will, of course, start with stitch-in-the-ditch and matchsticks just to get you warmed up, then on to fun stuff using stencils and templates.
One-Day Course Option
Make a sampler with twelve blocks showcasing the different walking foot designs. We will go through all the designs, you will have a chance to practice on each and then a brief discussion on how to assemble it in the Quilt-As-you-Go method.
Two-Day Course Option

Make a sampler with twelve blocks showcasing the different walking foot designs. We will go through all the designs, you will have a chance to practice on each.
Day 2:

REDWOOD TOTE (one day workshop)
Let's build this cross-body tote together. Come to class with the pattern and supplies (as per the pattern) and your fabrics cut and I will walk you through its construction.
Once you make one of these you'll want to make more. Ask me how I know!

RETREAT BAG (Half-Day workshop)
A make-up bag, sewing bag or just a bag perfect for any retreat...or purpose. My husband uses one to keep his golf tees, markers, balls and gloves. The bag is easy to make and holds a lot of goodies. The frame on this bag creates an opening that stays open no matter what, making it both handy and professional looking. Emmaline Bags has put out this pattern in two sizes. The small one measures 8 ½” long by 5” high by 4” wide and the larger one is 11” high by 6 ½” wide by 7” wide. We will be making the smaller version in this three-hour class but you will have the pattern for both at the end of the session.
Believe me, you won’t be able to stop yourself with just making ONE !
